  This is an excellent technique for changing your eating habits day to day. It is a very good way of overcoming the "borrow from tomorrow" problem that many people have. "I will just do this, for today, and promise to do better tomorrow." Unfortunately we go on borrowing from tomorrow forever more.

This technique involved committing to being consistent, rather then "good".

For example: you would not consider eating a jam donut every day of the week, so it would not be consistent to eat one today. You would not binge on high fat chips every day of the week, so it would not be consistent to eat that today. Aiming for consistency every day, makes decision making and commitment to a healthy diet much easier.
